Black Dzambhala
Black Dzambhala, also known as the wrathful form of Jambhala, is a powerful wealth deity in Tibetan Buddhism who embodies both fierce compassion and transformative abundance. He is believed to be an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, and he actively works to eliminate poverty and remove material and spiritual obstacles. Unlike the more serene forms of Jambhala, Black Dzambhala is depicted standing with a pot-bellied body and a fierce expression, while holding a skullcup filled with nectar in one hand and a mongoose that spits out jewels in the other. His black color symbolizes the transformation of negative energies into positive outcomes, and his posture stepping on a figure representing greed and ego illustrates his power to subdue inner afflictions. He is adorned with a crown of skulls and serpentine ornaments, and his rituals often involve offerings and mantras that invoke both material prosperity and spiritual growth.
